Grant Partnering and Support

PWSE collaborates with researchers at Iowa State who are supportive of women in science and engineering. Past collaborations have included:

  • writing letters of support for grant requests that provide funding for undergraduate research for women in science/engineering or other programs that might be relevant to PWSE mission
  • assisting researchers in identifying/recruiting women undergraduates to work on research projects/grants
  • serving as collaborators or Co-PI’s on grants that involve partnerships in outreach related to K-12 girls – to interest them in science/engineerin
  • directing researchers to data and literature relevant to the under-representation of women in engineering/science (both national and ISU data) – to assist researchers in writing about the “broader impacts” of their proposals
  • providing funding (via colleges or external funds) to support high school or undergraduate women working with researchers in the summer intern program to be shown as “matching” on requests for summer intern grant funding requests

A list of potential ideas to include in NSF(or related grants) that partner with PWSE to address the broader impacts of STEM related to women.

If you are an ISU researcher/faculty member that would like assistance from, or to collaborate with, PWSE on a grant application, please contact Karen Zunkel, Director, PWSE.
