This website is directed at girls through the ages of 15-18 who are interested in pursing science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) majors at the university level. Visitors to these pages may receive educational information about STEM majors and may join in a mentoring program with undergraduate women in STEM fields at Iowa State University. The child's parent or guardian will receive an e-mail alerting them to the registration and providing instructions on how the registration may be deleted, if so desired. Children are also specifically directed on the GirLinks page to obtain their parents' permission before providing such personal information. Prospective participants are also advised that any personal information provided will be used solely to contact the sender with a woman in a STEM major at Iowa State University and about upcoming Program for Women in Science and Engineering events and related e-mail. The Program for Women in Science and Engineering does not and will not use your child's e-mail address for any purpose other than for the purpose of providing a mentor or notifying her of Program for Women in Science and Engineering events of interest. |
