Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) Learning Communities
What it means to live on a WiSE floor
Women in the WiSE Learning Community will live with 19 other first-year women in science and engineering majors (less than half of the residence hall floor).Typically there are 10-12 WiSE students who return to the floor. The other half of the floor is made up of students of assorted majors giving you the best of both worlds. Living with women taking the same kinds of courses but with the variety of a "regular" residence hall floor.
The twenty first-year students make up a "team" and is assigned two peer mentors who will help you adjust to life at Iowa State, your classes and to just have fun! Each week teams have weekly events or meetings (centered around social, academic and leadership activities) and every two weeks your peer mentor will meet with you one-on-one just to make sure you are being successful at Iowa State.
**Not sure if you are eligible to be in the WiSE Learning Community? Check our list of majors to find out.
