WiSE friends in Friley Hall

Women in the WiSE Learning Community will live with 22 other first-year women in science and engineering majors (less than half of the residence hall floor).Typically there are 10-15 WiSE students who return to the floor. The other half of the floor is made up of students of assorted majors giving you the best of both worlds. Living with women taking the same kinds of courses but with the variety of a "regular" residence hall floor. The 22 first-year students make up a "team" and is assigned a peer mentor who will help you adjust to life at Iowa State, your classes and to just have fun! Each week teams have weekly events or meetings (centered around social, academic and leadership activities) and every month your peer mentor will meet with you one-on-one just to make sure you are being successful at Iowa State. Each participant in the First-Year Learning Community will be expected to sign the Community Agreement form, which explains the expectations for members of the WiSE Learning Communities.
