This scholarship was established in the memory of Laurel Ann Crowe who received her B.S. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University in 1984. Laurel, a sales engineer, was also an avid equestrian. She died at the age of 37 from breast cancer. This scholarship recognizes a female student in engineering who has achieved excellence. The award is open to full-time undergraduate students. The scholarship is renewable provided the student maintains a 2.0 grade point average and remains a full-time undergraduate student in engineering.

Scholarship has been awarded for the 2008-09 academic year.
