Getaway with Women in Science and Engineering
February 7-9, 2008

The Getaway is designed to introduce prospective science, technology, engineering, and math high school seniors to Iowa State University. Approximately twenty female high school seniors will attend regular ISU classes, take tours, see the inside of labs, attend panels, and experience the dorms to better acquaint them with college life at Iowa State University. Each student is matched with a female WiSE student living in the residence halls. Your responsibilities as a host would include:

  • Allow a high school senior to spend two nights in your room in February 2008.
  • You and/or your roommate are required to attend a banquet on February 7, 2008 with your guest
  • Share your experiences at Iowa State with your guest
  • Attend as many events as possible with your guest as well as planning a dinner excursion on Friday, February 8, 2008.

If you would like to be a part of the WiSE Getaway but are not living in the residence halls, we will be unable to place a guest in your room. However, there are other ways to be involved. If you are interested please email pwsegrad@iastate.edu to indicate your interest in participating in the program.
