How Do I Apply to the WiSE Learning Community?


Students planning on participating in the WiSE Learning Community must apply through the Department of Residence Housing application.

Step 1
. Accept your offer of admission to Iowa State University. You must be planning to live in a residence hall to participate in the WiSE Learning Community.

Step 2. After you accept your offer of admission, you will be invited to fill out a housing contract online using AccessPlus. If you do not wish to contract for housing online, please contact the Department of Residence Administrative Office at 294-2900 or (800) 854-9050 to request a printed contract.

Step 3. To select the WiSE Learning Community in AccessPlus; go to the tab Residence Hall New and select the Learning Communities tab. Select your top WiSE options and then click the Submit button to save your preferences when you are finished. WiSE housing options include:

WiSE Martin Hall female house, suite styled with A/C
WiSE Eaton Hall female house, suite styled with A/C
WiSE Friley Hall female house with substance free and with or w/out A/C option
WiSE Larch Hall coed house with A/C
WiSE Oak/Elm Halls all female residence hall

Step 4. You may log back into AccessPlus and change your learning community or room preferences at any time the housing deadline.

Step 5. There are a finite number of spaces in each learning community and students are admitted into them on a first-come-first-served basis. You will be notified of your admission into a learning community and your room assignment in by the Department of Residence.
